FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the most popular way for uploading files on a hosting account. To upload your site to your SiteGround hosting account you need to have your FTP login details and your favorite FTP Client installed and ready to be used.

In this section you will find answers of the following questions:

1. Where to find my FTP login details?

To access the web-based email clients you need to be logged into your Customer Area. In My Accounts section first click on the Manage Account button for the account whose FTP username and password you wish to see.

Hosting Review, FTP

Then look at the info in the FTP details section of your account management:

Hosting, Hosting Guide, Hosting FTP

If you do not remember your cPanel/FTP password, you can reset it from the cPanel access page.

2. How to use an FTP Client?

An FTP Client is software designed to transfer files back-and-forth between two computers over the Internet. It needs to be installed on your computer and can only be used with a live connection to the Internet. With an FTP client file transfers are made by simply dragging and dropping files from one pane to the other.

There are many FTP clients you can use to upload files to your hosting account. The most commonly used by the SiteGround clients are FileZilla and CuteFTP.
